RPM Jr. had a little incident with a patch of black ice on a corner last week, and hit a curb at speed. Thankfully all humans are OK and the damage is mostly to the wheel, suspension, and axle . Insurance will take care of it and we will all learn a valuable lesson, I suppose.
Ironically, the appointment to switch to winter tires
was scheduled for this weekend. Today, the car
got towed for suspension work
to the same dealer it had a service appointment scheduled at
...scheduled
for
today. I think they’re going to do the service while they have it.

Glad the kid is OK and hoping the damage to the car is minor to be easily repairable!

unexpected glare ice is one of those things which still makes me, er, pucker. winter tires are a bit better on it, but nothing short of studs will help you if you encounter it at the wrong time.

Yeah, headed downhill , on a bend, in the dark...I’m not sure winter rubber would have helped much.

Glad jr. is alright. These morning and evening temps are rough. I was sliding around in my truck Thursday morning

expensive lesson
they’ve got to learn to drive to the conditions
bash it into them to slow down
